This beautiful piece features a magnificent example of the unique and sort after Ametrine, and has also been set with a 1.38ct trillion cut Amethyst. Ametrine is a rare and unusual stone which occurs in Quartz when Amethyst and Citrine reside in the same gemstone. Because the colour zoning effect is natural, no two Ametrines are alike. High quality Ametrines show golden-orange with vivid purple. Larger gems over five carats, tend to show the most intensely saturated hues. Jewellers look for an attractive distribution of each colour, with a sharp boundary between the two colours at the center of the gemstone.
