Luxurious cushion cut, 28.14ct Ametrine pendant, beautifully handmade and exclusively designed by Empress Jewellery. This stately piece has been created in 925 sterling silver, and electroplated with 3 microns thickness of 23ct gold. This stunning pendant also featured a 1.5ct Amethyst drop. The overall measurements of this pendant are 86mm x 43mm.
 
Ametrine is a transparent gemstone that is composed of silicon dioxide, and is a member of the Quartz group of minerals. Ametrine appeared on the market in the early 1980s, and at first many had doubts about it being a natural Quartz variety, and not some fancy artificial product due to its striking appearance. The only known and well confirmed location for Ametrine is an area in Bolivia, near the Brazilian border. Ametrine’s abrupt colour transition reflects slight fluctuations in temperature and pressure during its formation. Depending on these factors, iron impurities lead to the formation of Amethyst or Citrine zones within the spectacular Quartz stone.
