Exquisite and extravagantly large natural marquise cut Amethyst pendant, handmade and artist designed by Empress Jewellery. This spectacular piece has been created in 925 sterling silver, and electroplated with 3 microns thickness of 23ct gold. The pendant has also been embelished with a lead glass crystal briolette. The overall measurements of this beautiful pendant are 77.5 x 33.9mm.
 
This magnificent, violet coloured Amethyst has been elegantly marquise cut, to compliment the flowing lines of this piece. This particular style of faceting is believed to date back to the 18th century, when King Louis XV of France asked a jeweller to design a diamond in the shape of the lips of Jean Anoinette Poisson, his much admired mistress! Amethysts have long been associated with royalty, due to their sort after colour.
