THE
ARTIST &
DESIGNER

Sarah-Lyn commenced working professionally as an artist from the age of eighteen. Her formative career began by working as a muralist, producing large scale artworks for companies. She was also employed as an artist by her local council, creating enormous murals of native Australian flora and wildlife.

The desire to learn the methods of the masters led Sarah-Lyn to travel to the origin of Renaissance art, Florence, Italy. There she undertook a course of study in painting portraiture from life at the Angel Academy of Art. Sarah-Lyn was able to greatly further her capability and knowledge of Classical Realist painting. The Academy’s painting methods were grounded in the old master tradition, but used the techniques and curriculum based on the 19th century European academies.

Sarah-Lyn has received innumerable fine art commissions held within Australia and overseas. Some of her early pieces are held within the Bank of Queensland, the Wesley Private Hospital and the Brisbane Lions AFL Club. Sarah-Lyn was commissioned to paint the portrait of the Hon Peter Garrett, displayed in Parliament House, Canberra. Her paintings have also been shown in galleries within Queensland and Victoria, receiving numerous awards for her exhibited work.
